NeverAgain Children's Project

NEVERAGAIN CHILDREN'S PROJECT

Founded by Pastor Robert Kayanja of the Miracle Centre Cathedral, the Never Again Children’s Project (N.A.C) began in September 2001 as a feeding out reach to the destitute street kids on the streets of Kampala City.

Pastor Robert Kayanja, while driving through the city, saw kids eat from the garbage and battled with what he had seen in his spirit.  He then told God it was not his fault that these kids were eating from the garbage but the Holy Spirit spoke to him saying, “Then problem is, they are doing it in your face”, (as you watch).

Pastor Robert Kayanja then started feeding these kids with a hot meal each day, until today.

Project’s Vision

Restoring the dignity of the little images of God, (Street kids) on the streets of Kampala City.

Mission Statement.

Never Again  will the image of God eat from the garbage; never will their dignity be reduced to naught.  We shall feed them, cloth them, house them, rehabilitate them, educate them, and present them to society as miracle workers.

Objectives

-To provide basic human needs. i.e. food, shelter, medical care, clothing, education, and counseling to the little abandoned images of God.

-To address the causes of the street kid problem looking at societies from which they originate.

-Lay down strategies for bettering family life in our societies..

-Feeding.

Over 1000 children are fed each day from our different homes in Kampala and Kapeeka-Luwero.

Housing.

We are housing over 400 children in six homes  in Kampala and Kapeeka. The Lord has enabled us to take care of them, atleast each child owns a bed, mattress and other beddings.

Health and Sanitation

Prevention is better than cure.  We offer improved sanitation to the kids to  prevent the spread of diseases that some kids carried to the homes from the streets.  Different ailments are treated and medicines administered by professional medical personnel.  Once in a while a doctor comes in to examine the health of the children in their respective homes.

Clothing

We regularly take our children for shopping. This shopping is usually done twice a year. During the Christmas and Easter seasons.

Counseling

Our pastors and other experienced counselors talk to our children on a daily basis.  Children always pray before bed and early in the mornings when they wake up.  They also go through a catch up program to orient them to normal society life.

Education.

The project runs two schools, the NAC Academy and Kapeeka orphanage school.  The NAC Academy follows a modified catch-up school curriculum that introduces the children to the education curriculum followed in normal schools. Kapeeka follows the ministry of education’s curriculum.
